🌧️ Guayaquil under heavy rain: @EnosMonitoreo reports very heavy rainfall

On Thursday afternoon, April 11, heavy rains surprised the people of Guayaquil, especially affecting the north of the city, in areas such as Francisco de Orellana Avenue and Samanes Park.

According to data from the specialized account @EnosMonitoreo, linked to the Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral (ESPOL), 54.4 mm of rain were recorded in just one hour, a figure that classifies the precipitation as very heavy.

This type of real-time monitoring allows alerting citizens and authorities about extreme weather events. Although no major damages were reported, it is recommended to be alert for possible new rains or sea level rise, as warned by Inocar with a high tide at 18:26.
